Bog turtles are endangered because their habitats built in the same area as new housing units. They are very desirable pets because they are small and cute. The Indiana bat is listed as endangered because of population loss and habitat destruction. The endangerment of the northern puma is due to hunting and trapping.

Pogonia small whorled is endangered because of habitat loss and degradation. Spiraea Virginiana is endangered because of human disturbance and form other plant species overlapping and eliminating it.

Native Species- Native Species- Species that invade or disrupt an ecosystem Introduced Species- Introduced Species- Species that lives outside another species native range but has arrived there by human activity. Invasive Species- Invasive Species- Species that does not typically occur in a n environment and can cause environmental harm and harm to human health.

INVASIVE SPECIES AFFECT OUR ENVIRONMENT There are some common ways in which invasive species affect our environment in a negative way. Some invasive species compete with other species for food and space. May compete indirectly and change the food web or physical environment. Prey on native species which are vulnerable to invasive species. Bring diseases that can harm species in our environment.

INVASIVE ANIMALS AND PLANTS

Reintroduced- A species living outside its indigenous or native distributional range, and has arrived in an ecosystem or plant community by human activity, either deliberate or accidental. Extirpated- A species that has become extinct in a given area.

This species population is declining due to habitat degradation and deforestation. Prescribed forest burns may assist recovery.
