He was a Portuguese explorer. born in Sabrosa, in northern Portugal. Later obtained Spanish nationality in order to serve King Charles I of Spain. He was in search of a westward route to the "Spice Islands" (modern Maluku Islands in Indonesia). After death of parents when 10 he became a page to Queen Leonor at Portuguese royal court because of heritage. Spice Islands

He was born in Sabrosa, in Northern Portugal. Later obtained Spanish nationality to serve King Charles I of Spain. He set sail under Spanish flag to find a western route to Asia. He died in Cebu, Philippines. They were looking for the strait that Magellan believed would lead to the Spice Islands. PortugalSpanish

Magellan’s expedition of became the first expedition to travel from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. He was also the first one to cross the pacific ocean. That expedition was also the first ever circumnavigation of the world. he was killed before he made the circumnavigation. concluded they had found the passage he was looking for, because the waters were brine and deep inland. There were 237 men. who set out on five ships to make there big expedition on the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. Their expedition lasted from (3 years). Magellan did not last all of the important points in the voyage. Only 18 of the 237 men made it home. New World

Magellan’s ship was called Victoria. Sailed in it from Victoria managed to pull through and return to Spain with a shipload of spices. his boat was 260 meters long. on December 6, the crew sighted South America. South African Flag

Magellan sailed to Mactan with a small attack force. During the resulting battle against Lapu-Lapu's troops, Magellan was hit by a bamboo spear and later surrounded and finished off with other weapons. After taking a leave without permission, Magellan fell out of favor. Magellan was born around Serving in Azemmour he was wounded and got a permanent limp. He was also accused of trading illegally with the Moors. The accusations were proved false, but there were no further offers of employment.
