After Boudicca’s husband died, the Romans came to ask for taxes. Boudicca didn’t want to pay any money to the Romans. She decided to start an army to fight the Romans. Many of the Celts lost their lives in the battle with the Romans. The Roman governor, Suetonius, lost his job because he had nearly allowed the Celts to defeat the Romans. The Celts who had been fighting had not been able to look after their farms, and so returned home to find that they had no food.
