Ralph the Christmas Mouse

One day a small mouse named Ralph was getting ready for Christmas. He was setting up the tree and wrapping presents. Ralph said “Oh, how happy I am and I can’t wait till Christmas.”

Just then his younger sister Molly walks in to help decorate the tree. Molly said “It looks beautiful, can you believe Christmas is tomorrow.” “No!” yelled Ralph “What?” Molly shrieked “We forgot the most important thing,” said Ralph “What, we have the presents, the tree, the decorations, and the lights, so what could we have forgotten,” wondered Molly

“We forgot the cookies and milk for Santa,” worried Ralph “Well lets hurry and make some,” said Molly So they both went into the kitchen and gathered what they needed like eggs, milk, flour, sugar and butter. They set the oven to 350 degrees and stuck them into bake. They waited and waited and…..

When the cookies were finally came out of the oven, they placed them on a cooling rack and waited. While they waited they got out the things that they would need to decorate the cookies. Molly mouse got out the sprinkles and icing. Ralph mouse got out food coloring and knives to spread the icing nice and smooth. After the cookies were cool they each decorated two of them. They placed them on a holiday plate for Santa next to the fireplace.

When they were finished cleaning the kitchen they were both very tired and headed off to bed. Before they could fall asleep they heard a noise on the roof. “What was that?” asked Molly “I don’t know, lets go check it out,” said Ralph

So both little mice sprang to see what the noise was. When they got to out to the family room you could not believe who was munching on the cookies they had made, but Santa himself. When Santa finished his bite of cookie he said. “Why children aren’t you suppose to be asleep.”

Ralph was the first to respond and said. “Yes sir but we had just gotten to bed and we heard a noise.” “Oh well sorry, but you must get back to bed before I can leave your presents,” So the mice did as they were told and scampered off to bed

When they woke up the next morning they hurried out to the tree, to see what presents Santa had left them. Molly mouse got a doll with pretty pink bows and a flower dress, and Ralph got the toy motorcycle he had been wanting. As they were playing with their new toys Molly found a note under the tree. Molly read, Dear Ralph and Molly, I am very sorry about waking you and I hope I did not scare you. Those cookies you left me were outstanding. I can’t wait till next year. Love Santa P.S. MERRY CHRISTMAS

After reading the note they realized that Santa really liked there cookies and couldn’t wait till next year. “Wait, next year we a making a list of things to do so we won’t forget again,” said Ralph So that’s what they did every year they made a check list and the first thing to do on their list was always to bake Santa’s cookies.
