1. What is a Punters Club? A Punters Clubs is a community who share an interest in racing and other sporting activities; The Club has a Manager who starts the Club, keeps members informed and organises social events; Club members buy shares in the Punters Club, compete against each other in competitions and take turns to nominate the horses on which to bet each Saturday.; Club winnings go into the Club bank and, at any time, individuals can cash out their share to spend however they wish.

2. What are the benefits of joining the Club? There are 4 main reasons to become a member:- (i) To be part of a community club and enjoy all the social benefits which go with that membership; (ii) To maintain an interest in horse racing, and other sporting activities, whilst at the same time having the chance to make a small profit; (iii) To take part in free competitions against fellow members; (iv) To have access to social events.

3. How are shares bought and sold, and why does their price change? The issue price of each share is £10. Shares can only be bought at the initial price until 1 st December After the launch date of 1 st December shares can increase or decrease in value. The share price can change for 2 reasons:- (i)If bets placed with bookmakers each Saturday are successful then the price will increase. However, if bets are unsuccessful then the share price will decrease. (ii)Members compete against each other in a range of competitions for which the prize is Free Shares. However, issuing free shares will cause the share price to decrease.

4. Can I remain anonymous? Part of the thrill of taking part in a competition like Monthly Champion Tipster is having ‘bragging rights’. This could only happen if you are identified as the member who is successful. However, if a member wishes to remain anonymous then they will be issued with a Membership Number which only they will know.

5. Where is the Club’s money kept and how do I pay for my shares or cash them in? The Brill Punters Club has its own dedicated Bank Account with the Halifax. Payment for shares is via this Bank account, either by cheque or Bank Transfer. If you wish to purchase more shares then me, notifying me how many you wish to purchase. If you wish to sell shares then me and I will transfer the payment for your shares straight to your Bank Account.

6. What are the competitions on offer, and how am I rewarded for a success? Monthly Champion Tipster Each Saturday members are invited to select one horse and have 10 pts win or 5 pts each way. At the end of the Month the member with the most points will win 5 Free Shares. Note that if you forget to select a horse then you will be allocated the Favourite in the first Channel 4 televised race.

What happens if too many people become involved? This would be great! As soon as the number of members approaches 20 there would be a Division 1 and a Division 2, with promotion and relegation each month. By the time membership has reached 30 there would be 3 Divisions, with monthly prizes of 5 (First Division),3 (Second Division)and 1 free shares (Third Division)to encourage members to want to be Champion Tipster of Division 1.

6. What are the competitions on offer, and how am I rewarded for a success? 4 Aways Football Competition Each Saturday members are invited to select 4 teams which will win away from home. Teams must come from the 4 main English, or 4 main Scottish divisions. If a member is successful with all 4 selections they win 2 Free Shares. If no one wins on a particular Saturday the prize fund increases by a further 2 Free Shares. (Max = 10 shares to be shared between winners). If this competition becomes too easy then it will switch to be nominating 4 teams to Draw instead. Note that if members have little interest in Football, or forget one week, then they can provide a list of their favourite 10 teams at the outset and I will ensure their 4 Aways are the first 4 on their list who are playing away.

6. What are the competitions on offer, and how am I rewarded for a success? Brill Punters Club v The Bookies Every Saturday 2 members, on a rotational basis, are asked to invest up to £50 each of Club funds on televised races. This could be :- £50 win on one horse; £25 each way on one horse; 5 x £10 win on 5 different horses; Or any combination of your choosing.

What happens if the Membership grows? The aim is for each Member to have the task of selecting Saturdays bets every 4 to 6 weeks. A membership above 12 would mean that the wait becomes longer than 6 weeks. Therefore: Members3 people select each week Members4 people select each week

7. How are bets placed? When it is your week to select what the Punters Club invest their £50 on, you should me or phone me by 11am on Saturday with your selections. I will then place the bets with the bookmaker who offers the best price on each of your selected horses.

6. What are the competitions on offer, and how am I rewarded for a success? Feature Race Once a month an important race will be selected as the Feature Race. The first is the King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day. For every 5 shares a member holds they will get one chance in the draw for horses in the Feature Race. Draw to be independently made by Willie Underwood when he is available. Prizes of 5, 3 and 1 free shares will be awarded to the ‘owners’ of the first, second and third in the Feature Race.

8. How am I kept informed and how do I relay my selections? Each Saturday you should provide your selection in the ‘Monthly Tipping Competition’ and your 4 Away Teams in the Football Competition by 12 noon either by or a phone call.

8. How am I kept informed The website will keep you fully informed.

8. How am I kept informed

9. Is membership confined to people in the Bernwode Benefice? The Brill Punters Club uses the platform provided by to keep members informed and to take money or repay money. This is all internet based and therefore is accessible by everyone throughout the world. Hence, the Brill Punters Club is open to all. Indeed, I would hope that members not from Brill would still join fellow members at race meetings or other social events.

How will I be kept informed of social events?

10. What are the social events on offer? Throughout the year there will be a range of social events for members to take part in. (i)At least 1 race meeting per year. Currently the proposal is an evening meeting at Towcester or a Saturday meeting at Newbury. (ii)At least 1 Quiz per year. Currently it is hoped that members can support a Quiz based on the Jimmy Tarbuck TV show ‘Winner Takes All’ at Chilton Barn on February 28 th. (iii)A roulette evening with members competing against one another. ( No money involved!) (iv)A night at the soon to be opened Towcester Greyhound Stadium. (v)A visit to a racing stable. (vi)A Punters Club Lunch towards the end of the first year.
