Online Resources From Oxford University Press

Overview This presentation gives a brief description of US Constitutional Law. It tells you: what US Constitutional Law is how it can help you how to look for information in it The presentation will take about 4 minutes.

Oxford Constitutional Law (OXCON) is the home of Oxford’s constitutional law services, including Oxford Constitutions of the World and US Constitutional Law. Via this platform users are able to perform a single search across both of Oxford’s constitutional law services, ensuring fast, comprehensive results. It’s easy to return to the Oxford Constitutional Law main site or any of the individual resources by clicking Product Selector on the left.

US Constitutional Law (USC) provides a comprehensive research resource on the law, politics, and history of constitutionalism in the United States at the federal and state levels.

The resource features the full text of current and historical state constitutions as well as the Oxford Commentaries on the State Constitutions of the US series, offering article-by-article commentaries on every State Constitution, tracing their historical development. Combining extensive primary materials with expert commentary, the service offers researchers unparalleled access to the historical development of federal and state constitutionalism.

The homepage allows users to navigate content by Content type and State quickly and intuitively.

Searching across all content is straightforward – type the search term into the top right search box. Searching across Jurisdiction is also possible in the middle of the homepage. Kentucky amendment

Search results can be refined by content type, jurisdiction, book titles, author and date.

Each result consists of the name of the matching document, the title in which it appears, the author name, content type, product, series, date of print and online publication, and the ISBN.

US Constitutional Law provides users with the full text of book titles from the Oxford Commentaries on the State Constitutions of the US (COTUS) series. The table of contents in the left column allows users to navigate the book easily and quickly.

The site allows users to view and share content in several ways: as a pdf download, in a printer-friendly view, by saving searches and content in My account for future visits, in an , via social network sites.

Search and Browse options are available on every page, as well as access to an Advanced Search option for more specific searching.

In an Advanced search, users can search for more than one term at once. Search by entering a word or phrase in the search field. Add new row(s) to include additional words or phrases and refine your search further. You can also search by selecting the content type you need. New York constitution 17??

Users can also access the full text of constitutional instruments. Each article from US Constitutional Law has a link to the Oxford Law Citator in the left panel, which provides direct links to related jurisdictions. From Oxford Law Citator, other materials can be accessed in US Constitutional Law, other OUP online law resources, and certain external resources.
