Short Story #1 Wednesday Story Title & Author: “Ordeal by Cheque” by Wuther Crue Narrative Perspective: 3rd person point of view, checks of Lawrence Exeter Important Literary or Stylistic Techniques: Use of dates and place names to convey setting; conflict and climax built on inference Unusual Features: the entire story is comprised of hand-written checks. There are no sentences, paragraphs, dialogue etc. Gut Reaction: At first I was really confused by the story, but then I was intrigued to figure out what happened. The idea of how checks can tell a story about someone is really interesting!
