The Ontario Governments Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) has identified 6 essential skills for employability in 21 st century: Numeracy, Problem solving and critical thinking, Information management, Personal management, Interpersonal skills, and Communication skills. 4 We cannot direct the wind but we can adjust the sail.

The students who failed to meet the Provincial minimum standards in EQAO assessments are noted below: 5 ReadingWriting Mathematics Grade %27%31% Grade %27%42% Grade 9 (applied) 58%

Background According to HRDC data, less than 25% of the population between the age participate in University Another estimates suggest that close to 40% of the students drop out of university within the first year 6 The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.

Our Program The research clearly indicates a few success factors: All students can learn and be confident in mathematics, given appropriate support and guidance Teacher makes the biggest difference. Well trained, experienced and dedicated teacher is the first and foremost factor in the success of students Using the right approach, study material, and tools are some of the other key factors in developing the interest and competency of a student 7 There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, learning from failure.

Our Program Our program has dual objectives: Positive learning attitude and skills Promote academic excellence and knowledge Program design, teaching techniques, material and methodologies developed by very experienced and trained staff 8 The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you.
