Las Posadas Processions begin on the 16th and last until the 24th Parties are held every night in different homes and people celebrate the journey that Mary and Joseph took looking for lodging (Posada). Kathryn Moody
Las Posadas Las Posadas last for 9 nights. People go to a different house each night and have a fiesta. They sing, dance, eat and break a piñata. Kathryn Moody
La Noche Buena The Posadas end on the 24th (La Nochebuena). Everyone goes to mass at midnight (La Misa del Gallo). Families gather and have a feast after mass. Kathryn Moody

El Día de los Reyes la Merienda Rosca de Reyes is a sweet bread served on January 6. A figure of baby Jesus is hidden in it. The person who finds it has a party on Candelmas, Feb. 2, when the holidays come to an end. Kathryn Moody
El Día de la Candelaria The Nativity scene is put away. A party is given by the person who found the baby Jesus in the Rosca and tamales are served. This is the end of the holiday season. Kathryn Moody
