Why I cannot by my own thinking or choosing trust in Jesus as my Savior… 1.By nature I’m dead in sin. 2.By nature I call God’s message foolishness. I’m spiritually blind. 3.By Nature I’m God’s enemy.

THE HOLY SPIRIT GIVES ME FAITH IN JESUS AS MY SAVIOR AND LORD.

The Holy Spirit gives me faith in Jesus as my Savior and LORD. 1.The Holy Spirit is true God along with the Father and Son. 2.The Holy Spirit works faith in me through God’s Word and Sacraments. (Sacrament = sacred act commanded by God that gives forgiveness through faith.)

The Holy Spirit gives me faith in Jesus as my Savior and LORD. 3.The Holy Spirit’s work of bringing me to faith in Jesus is called a.Conversion (being turned around from unbelief to faith.) b.Regeneration (being born again)

The Holy Spirit gives me faith in Jesus as my Savior and LORD. 4.God wants everyone to be saved. Those who reject the Holy Spirit’s call are lost by their own fault.

The Holy Spirit also equips me to serve Jesus after I become a believer in Jesus 1.He helps me to grow in knowledge and understanding of the Bible. (He enlightens me.) 2.He produces good works of gratitude in my life. (He sanctifies me.) 3.He keeps me in the true faith through word and sacraments.

In short, the Holy Spirit sanctifies me. He sets me apart…. – FROM the unbelieving world into fellowship with Jesus. – FOR a new life of serving God in all that I do.

I NEED TO DEPEND ON THE HOLY SPIRIT ALL MY LIFE; THEREFORE I NEED TO USE REGULARLY GOD’S WORD AND SACRAMENTS THROUGH WHICH THE HOLY SPIRIT COMES TO ME!
