2 The Sacraments  1. A Sacrament is a sacred act, 1) instituted by Christ 2) with certain visible elements connected with God’s Word. 3) by which God gives forgiveness, new life and salvation  2. There are two Sacraments: 1) Baptism 2) Lord’s Supper

3 What is Baptism?  Applying water in any manner in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  (the two necessary things are water and the Word of God)

4 What Are the Blessings of Baptism?  1. forgiveness of sins  2. a new birth/rebirth  3. salvation
