Come Let Us Adore Him FHE Resource Book Lesson 37

He Sent His Son How could the Father Tell the world Of love and tenderness? He sent His Son, A newborn babe, With peace and holiness.

He Sent His Son How could the Father Show the world The pathway we should go? He sent His Son To walk with men on earth, That we may know.

He Sent His Son How could the Father Tell the world Of sacrifice, of death? He sent His Son To die for us And rise with living breath.

He Sent His Son What does the Father Ask of us? What do the scriptures say? Have faith, have hope, Live like His Son, Help others on their way. What does He ask? Live like His Son.

Matthew 1:18-23

Oh, Hush Thee, My Baby Oh, hush thee, my baby; A story I’ll tell, How little Lord Jesus On earth came to dwell; How in a far country, ‘way over the sea, Was born a wee baby, My dear one, like thee.

Oh, Hush Thee, My Baby Lullaby baby, Lullaby dear. Sleep, little baby; Have nothing to fear. Lullaby baby, Lullaby dear. Jesus will care for His little one here.

Luke 2:1-7

When Joseph Went to Bethlehem When Joseph went to Bethlehem, I think he took great care to place his tools and close his shop and leave no shavings there. He urged the donkey Forward then, With Mary on its back, And carried bread and goat cheese in a little linen sack.

When Joseph Went to Bethlehem I think there at The busy inn That he was meek and mild And awed to be the guardian Of Mary’s sacred child. Perhaps all through The chilly hours He smoothed the Swaddling bands, And Jesus felt The quiet strength Of Joseph’s gentle hands.

When Joseph Went to Bethlehem And close beside The manger bed, He dimmed the Lantern’s light And held the Little Jesus close Upon that holy night.

Luke 2:8-14

Once Within a Lowly Stable Once within a lowly stable, Where the sheep and oxen lay, A loving mother Laid her baby In a manger Filled with hay. Mary was the mother there, And the Christ that baby fair.

Once Within a Lowly Stable God sent us This loving baby From His home In Heav’n above, And He came down To show all people How to help And how to love. This is why the angels bright Sang for joy that Christmas night.

Luke 2:15-20

Away in a Manger Away in a manger, no crib for his bed, The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head; The stars in the heavens looked down where he lay, looked down where he lay, The little Lord Jesus, Asleep on the hay.

Away in a Manger Asleep, asleep, Asleep, the Savior In a stall! Asleep, asleep, Asleep, the Lord Of all!

Away in a Manger The cattle are lowing, the poor baby wakes; But little Lord Jesus, No crying he makes. I love thee, Lord Jesus; Look down from the sky And stay by my cradle till morning is nigh.

Away in a Manger Asleep, asleep, Asleep, the Savior In a stall! Asleep, asleep, Asleep, the Lord Of all!

Away in a Manger Be near me, Lord Jesus; I ask Thee to stay Close by me forever, And love me, I pray. Bless all the dear children In Thy tender care, And fit us for heaven, To live with Thee there.

Away in a Manger Asleep, asleep, Asleep, the Savior In a stall! Asleep, asleep, Asleep, the Lord Of all!

Wise men still Seek Him…

Matthew 2:1-11

Stars Were Gleaming Stars were gleaming, shepherds dreaming; And the night was dark and chill. Angels’ story rang with glory; Shepherds heard it on the hill. Ah, that singing! Hear it ringing, Earthward winging, Christmas bringing! Hearken! We can hear it still!

Stars Were Gleaming See the clearness and the nearness Of the blessed Christmas star, Leading, guiding; wise men riding Through the desert dark and far Lovely showing, Shining, growing, Onward going, gleaming glowing Leading still our Christmas star!

The Lord is come…

Beautiful Savior Fair is the sunshine, Fairer the moonlight And all the stars In Heav’n above; Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer And brings to all the world His love.

Beautiful Savior Fair are the meadows, Fairer the woodlands, Robed in the flowers Of blooming Spring; Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer. He makes the sorrowing spirit sing.

Beautiful Savior Beautiful Savior! Lord of the nations! Son of God And Son of Man! Thee will I honor, Praise, and give glory, Give praise and glory evermore! Evermore!
