Hello and welcome to this short booklet on the animal, bird and plant life in my local area. Here you will find short stories on some of Ireland’s interesting Wildlife hope you enjoy it.

The Magpie is said to be a bird that loves silver and is famous for stealing shiny things such as keys and watches. From my point of view magpies are not seen regularly in our area. The magpie is black and white with a hint of blue, And there is also a saying that if you see two magpies together it is a sign of good luck.

The Robin is famous for being a traditional Christmas bird. It is a widely known bird across Ireland and is often printed on christmas cards. Robins are seen regularly in our area. The Robin in brown and white in colour with a red breast.

The fox is a very sly cunning animal famous for being very sly and devious. Not surprisingly the fox is always the wise animal in fictional stories. They are seen on a regular basis this area usually at night night. The fox has a reddish/brownish coat and a large bushy tail.

A hare is similar to a rabbit but is larger and faster. There is a large quantity of hares in this area and are seen often particulary in the morning but quickly dissapear when people approach. My classmates usually see the hares while eating their breakfast in the morning.

The Rose is a flower grown widely and when it is grown it is usually a prized possesion to people. And is usually a flower you would give to a loved one. The rose is famous for being “Rosy Red” but comes in various colours and is a beautiful flower that many people treasure.

A daisy is a very small flower which is practicallly growing everywhere you look. Which makes it an outstandingly wild flower, which most people think is very “pretty”. The Daisy is a yellow flower with white petals.
