 4 courses  Elite Women  Adv. Mixed  Concert Choir  Men’s Choir  Nearly 130 total students  ‘Mixed Group’ = Schola Cantorum

 Develop correct & age appropriate vocal technique for the students  Develop and enhance musical skills in notation and sight singing  Recognize musical elements and demonstrate expressive qualities in varying styles of choral music as well as acquire the knowledge of its connection to history, culture, and other arts.

 Presidents:  Francesca Foster & Maddie Brooks  Vice-Presidents  Kelly Tansey & Charles Palmer  Historian:  Abby Snyder  Librarians:  Sydney Wakeford & Peyton Davis

 “Storytelling through Music & Literature”  Each choir is learning choral songs based upon outstanding Literature compositions  Each choir will likely perform a Musical Theatre selection as it is the ultimate American ‘Storytelling”  Working in co-ordination with the EHS Literature Dept for in-depth study

 December 11 th – Likely in the EHS Auditorium  Will include all of our EHS Choral traditions

 Large Group Performance Evaluation  Required to stay in-district – Cumming, GA  Take 4-5 groups Women, Elite, Schola Cantorum, and Men’s Choir (Chamber)  Only chance for adjudication on both ensemble singing and sight-singing  New workshop

 Spring Cabaret  Auditions held late March once the Musical is completed  Event will be catered by local company  Students ‘actors’ will be needed as servers also

 Likely to be held off-site  ‘Around the World in 80 Minutes’ – including traditional/folk music from countries around the world including United States, South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia.  Experts from various countries will do seminars with the students and possibly join us on instruments in the concert  Working with EHS Social Studies Dept

 September 5-6– Elite Fall Retreat  October 4 th – Solo & Ensemble Festival  October 21 rd – Fall Chorus Concert – All Choirs  December 11 th - Holiday Combined Concert – All Choirs  March st – Spring Musical  March 25 or 26 th – LGPE  April – Spring Trip  April TBA – Dinner Theatre  May 14 th – Spring Concert – All Choirs  May 18 th - Spring Banquet

 October 3-4 th – Cherokee County Honor Choir  October 28 th – KSU Men’s Day  November 1 st – GMEA All-state Reading Chorus Auditions  November 15 th _ GMEA All-state Chorus Audition (1 st round)  November nd – District 9 Honor Choir  January 24 th – All-state 2 nd round auditions  March 5-7 th – GMEA All-state

 Fall Fundraiser –  Starting tomorrow – ends September 23 rd  Encore Fundraising – Cookie Dough  First 7 products go towards EHS Chorus if chorus fee not paid; all subsequent sales go in an 80/20 split towards a trip voucher for the student to be used this school year  Parent Volunteers Needed on Delivery Day!
