Alternatively your local audit department may require that you submit a written report of the results. 1.These slides are provided to local collaborators for use in local presentations to departmental or audit meetings. It may be worthwhile consulting your local audit department regarding any specific requirements. 2.Feel free to format report and add sections as required.  Audit standard: – All patients should have BMI calculated within 24 hours of admission to hospital (NICE CG 32).  Study aims: – Establish compliance with NICE guidelines requiring early identification of obese patients. – Determine role of obesity as risk factor for major post-operative complications. Methods  3 teams each auditing 2-week periods in Oct–Nov  Inclusion criteria:  Adult patients undergoing GI or HPB surgery with an overnight stay in hospital.  Exclusion criteria:  Day case surgery and minor anorectal procedures.  Transplants.  Hernia surgery without bowel resection.
