SMT Stencil Wiper Rolls Hyperclean

The EMS industry faces many challenges in stencil cleaning due to the rapid expansion of fine pitch applications. This has highlighted the need for high performance, reliable stencil wiper rolls. This presentation will show you why Hyperclean Stencil Wiper Rolls are the best solution from not only the performance view point but also the very low Environmental Impact position.

Hyperclean Is a 100% polypropylene non-woven fabric, manufactured using advanced materials & processing technologies, resulting in a high performance, cost effective stencil cleaning roll that can meet the challenges of fine pitch applications.

We have shown you the composition of our Hyperclean fabric, so now, we can show you the composition of other products in the market place. Cellulose/Polyester Paper mainly from China Cellulose/Polyester hydro-entangled non-woven Rayon (viscose)/Polyester Paper/Fabric

HYPERCLEAN Cellulose/Polyester Paper Fabric differences

Fibre Structure Comparison Cellulose/Polyester Paper & Rayon/Polyester Paper/Fabric Fibres have a dominant linear direction Cellulose Polyester Hydroentangled non-woven Hyperclean Fibres have a dominant linear direction Completely random orientation no dominant fibre direction It absorbs a lot of liquid which can induce swelling with potential for jamming the machine The physical properties are the same wet or dry unlike combination cellulose products Cannot be recycled easily due to the combination of 2 entirely different materials Made up of 100% Polypropylene fibers so it can be easily recycled in the plastics chain

Hyperclean Fibre Structure 100% polypropylene fibres dry laid non-woven with completely random orientation and the thermal bonding operation makes the surface ‘wavy’ and so better cleaning performance than smooth surface products. The fabric traps the solder paste within the fibres unlike very smooth surface combination paper products where the solder paste stays on the surface creating solder flakes & potential contamination as the solder paste dries out. Non Linting so it will not block the stencil apertures. Hyperclean fabric will NOT SWELL as a result of liquid absorption. The physical properties are the same wet or dry unlike cellulose based products. Non-abrasive, giving longer stencil life.

Liquid Absorption  Cellulose based products can absorb moisture even before insertion into the printer. When the solvent is applied it is firstly absorbed into the body of the fibres. This can result in swelling of the fibres. When wet the physical properties are completely transformed into a ‘mushy’ texture.  The special properties of Hyperclean fibres keeps the solvent on the outside of the fabric and rapidly spreads over the whole area, making the cleaning process more efficient, with the potential to use less IPA resulting in cost savings and reduction of IPA vapour in the environment.  The special properties of Hyperclean totally eliminate any swelling of the fibres thereby preventing any jamming of the fabric in the machine.

Cleaning Comparison Cellulose/Rayon/Polyester Paper HYPERCLEAN

Actual Images using 400X Magnification Cellulose/Rayon/Polyester Paper Solder balls stay on the surface creating solder flakes & potential contamination as the solder balls dry out. Hyperclean Solder balls are trapped within the fibres, thereby eliminating contamination as the solder balls dry out.

Hyperclean Vacuum Performance  The unique properties of the fibres together with our advanced processing technology produces a fabric with optimum vacuum performance. Vacuum performance is NOT reduced during the wet cycle.  The next slide will show you photographs demonstrating the superiority of Hyperclean during vacuum cycle.  The vacuum performance of cellulose/rayon/polyester wiper rolls is greatly impaired due to the solvent transforming the physical properties of the paper. These cleaning papers are a distinct hindrance to efficient stencil cleaning.

Swiftmode’s pursuit of innovation and quality, take into account, from the outset our Environmental Responsibilities. Our soon to be published White Paper will clearly show that combination Cellulose products spew toxic chemicals into the air and general environment.

That is why Hyperclean is : Made up of 100% Polypropylene fibers so it can be easily recycled in the plastics chain, which is good for the environment. Manufactured with low energy use and low carbon footprint with no toxic waste, no toxic emissions, no fluorocarbon and no halogens. Thermally bonded so it does NOT contain any chemical binders. Easily recycled with low conversion energy. Suitable for incineration due to it’s high calorific value and clean burning with no toxic emissions and low CO 2 emissions for the high energy levels generated.

Chloride Content Comparison

Only Paper Cores Swiftmode do not use any plastic cores for our Wiper Rolls The majority of plastic cores are made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) the manufacture of which uses and releases toxic chemicals. Although they can be recycled it involves high energy usage and the potential for toxic emissions. Hyperclean Paper Cores are manufactured to a high standard and proven to be reliable and efficient. Cores that have to be cut with notches undergo a special treatment to give them strength and eliminate any particulation. Used paper cores can be simply included with all other paper and cardboard waste for easy recycling. Thereby contributing to a lower environmental impact.

Minami Cores Innovation Hyperclean does not use any recycled paper for the cores, we only use Virgin kraft paper. Our cores can be recycled easily with the cardboard and paper waste. Swiftmode have, using our expertise and commitment to innovation eliminated the plastic end plugs used in Minami cores. This makes the paper core more easy to recycle without the plastic plugs. The customer also benefits from cost saving when buying Swiftmode’s Minami stencil wiper roll. Plastic End Plug Paper Core
