Today’s Topic… The Key to Workplace Efficiency and Productivity! Organization:

A new academic year has arrived… …and what better way to kick things off right than by getting organized!

Think getting organized is… …too much of a bore? …too much of a chore?...too difficult? Then think again!

Believe it or not, a few well placed organizational tips and tools can spell the difference between failure and success in terms of your workplace productivity.

With a few, simple adjustments your work day will feel less like this…

And more like this… All it takes is a commitment to…

Clear the Clutter

Make your desk an area of “essentials only” – including files, papers, and general office supplies Form the habit of being tidy - put things back in their place when you are done with them. Shred/Trash unessential paperwork Create and use folders for storing hard-copy files

Organize the Information

File information according to project, due date, time-frame or a combination of the three Keep files/info used daily within easy reach – store all others Label folders and sort e-files on your computer desktop

Practice Planning

Remember! …if you fail to plan… …you plan to fail! Planning is a form of subconscious mental programming that makes you more productive. Thus…

Program yourself by: Creating a to-do list for the day Ordering items according to importance: Routine, Rush, ASAP Establishing a working time frame in which each item will be completed Working toward completing each task according to your timed plan

And by the end of the day… Your list will have become your List. “To-Do” “Done”

Organization is the key to your success! And utilizing these tips will cause your productivity to SOAR! Remember…
