Book 9 By: Michael Buse

Juno tells Turnis that Aeneas is gone, so Turnis immediately sends his troops to the expecting Trojans fortified camp.

With no weakness in the fortress, they try to burn their fleet

Due to Jupiter’s blessing, the ships turn to nymphs when attacked, ruining Turnis’s plan

Night falls and Euryalus and Nisus are sent to warn Aeneas, but stop at in the sleeping Latins’s camp and murder many high ranking men in their sleep. They are caught and killed.

Next morning, with beefed up courage, Turnis attacks and pinpoints the forts weakness

With in the fortress panic arises. It is quieted by Ascanius’s first kill (via arrow). This prompts a visit from Zeus.

Trojans open gates and launch a surprise attack, but initial success is stopped by Turnis, leading the Trojans to flee back into their gate =o9gVWG5IQ7w&feature=related

When shutting the gate Turnis gets in too and goes crazy then ends up escaping by diving into the Tiber
