. The development of the livestock sector in Sindh demands scrutiny for the following reasons:  a) Sindh has the second largest irrigated agrarian base in the country, and having huge potentials in terms of diversified natural resources and excellent human resources.  b) Livestock sector has a potential to grow as a driver of change, not only in terms of growth and poverty reduction.  c) Compared with Punjab, Sindh has comparative advantages in the livestock sector in terms of it's diversified and the higher proportion of livestock income in the total household income, in particular the lower income strata.  d)The development of the livestock sector in Sindh could contribute immensely not only to the stability and sustainable growth of the province, but also to the increasing supply of livestock demand demand of Karachi (metropolitan) city in Pakistan.

28 LIVESTOCK EXPERIMENTAL STATIONS  OBJECTIVES  To carry out the experiments on the various aspects of the Breed in its original character.  To act as demonstration stations for disseminating the results of experiments to the farmers for improvement of their Livestock.  To maintain the pure Breeds.  Supply the Breeding Bulls to the farmers as well as the Veterinary Hospitals and Dispensaries to improve the Livestock through natural services.
