Introduction e-PAN is an Internet based system This allows to insert online PAN information Effort has been made to simplify the system so that the system can be operated without any training.

Steps for tax payer registration Basically three types of tax-payers. – Individual – Business – Proprietary Business Any tax payer can either register PAN for either Income tax only or for income tax and Vat both.

Individual pan registration A tax payer first gets Pan registration number by clicking on Pan registration link. He is assigned a unique registration number along with his username and password. He needs to remember his username,password and registration number to reedit his information in registration form.

Steps::continued After he has filled up the registration form, he can re-edit by logging on through PAN login form.

Business PAN registration Business pan registration process is similar to Individual pan registration. A business tax payer is given his registration number,username and password through PAN registration form. He will now fill up business PAN registration form. As in individual pan registration,he can re-edit his information by logging on with his registration number,username and password. He needs to fill up main business address,managing director ’ s address and so-on.

Proprietary Business Registration In this type of PAN registration, a tax payer has to fill up Individual PAN registration form and Business PAN registration form as well. He needs to fill up Individual PAN registration form once. He can apply for PAN on behalf of more than one business. He has to specify one business as the main one but can include other businesses as well.

Status Any tax payer can view his registration status through link status.

Officer verification A tax officer can verify information filled by individual,business and Proprietary business. He first logs in through his username and password. He then enters registration number of tax payers. He can set pan number for particular tax payers(Individual,Business and Proprietary) Besides he can view tax payers status and information as well. Once he assigns pan number,tax payers cannot edit their information through their login.

Print preview After tax payers have filled up their form,they can view print preview and print as well.
