The Oxidative Steps of the Pentose Phosphate Pathway Mistake in book NOT reversible Figure 22.23 The glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase reaction is the committed step in the pentose phosphate pathway.

The three most energy consuming Reactions of glycolysis are replaced in gluconeogenesis, NOT just the ones in Glycolysis that consume ATP as stated in lecture. A way to remember which ones differ First two and last reaction differ. The ones here without double arrows.
