Christ Lives in me to Work His Glory
GOOD FRIDAY The Hospitality of God.
Presentation transcript:

After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.

 The Bible is a story of God’s salvation, but also a story of reconciling all relationships. › We live in a broken world with broken relationships and lots of pain.  The focus of Jesus’ life is to glorify God › The Bible requires the same kind of life from us

"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."

Glorify God

 Through giving thanks (even in suffering)  Living as God planned, as the light of the world.  By completing the work he has given us to do. (v.4)

 Service. › Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”  Absolute obediance › John 5:19 “Very truly I tell you, the son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.  The mission Jesus received from God. › die on the cross

 First: glorify God by following the example of Jesus › John 13:15 “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.” › Matt 22:37-39 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbors as yourself.” › Loving others voluntarily, intentionally, humbly, sacrificially and joyfully

 Second : to fulfill the universal mission God gave us  Matthew 5:13-16 › Jesus said to us, You are the salt of the earth. Our job in the world is to work as salt, to prevent the world from decaying by being salty through our life. › Jesus also said, You are the light of the world. Ephesians 5:8 “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.”

 Third, we can glorify God through fulfilling the unique mission God gives to us. › Moses’ unique mission › We must discover what is the God-given unique mission in our life is and must fulfill it. › My God-given unique mission for my life.

 What is your unique mission today?  Have you discovered that mission yet?
