The animals of the Revelation

If we focus on beasts and dragons and miss the messages about the Lamb we have failed to grasp the real meaning of the Revelation.

Remember two of the keys to understanding the Revelation 1-Frequently repeated words 2-Old Testament imagery

The frequency of “Lamb” 37 times “Lamb” is found in the NT 31 of these occurrences are in the Revelation 30 of these times are a reference to Christ

The Old Testament roots of “Lamb” Guilelessness, Jer. 11:19; Isa. 11:6 Uncomplaining suffering, Isa. 53:7 Burnt offering as a present to God, Gen. 22:8 Memorial of deliverance from Egypt, Ex. 12:3, 11, 14

There are 4 things to remember about the Lamb

The Lamb of judgment The wrath of the lamb 6:16 Punishment in His presence 14:10 Judgment according to His book of life 21:27

The Lamb who is Deity Lamb and God one 7:10,17; 14:4; 21:22-23; 22:1,3 Glory, honor, power both Lamb and God 5:12-13; 7:12; 19:1 Seven horns and seven eyes 5:6 Worthy of worship 5:11-14; 7:9-10

The Lamb who conquers On Mt. Zion with redeemed 14:1 Song of Moses and Lamb 15:3 Overcomes all enemies 17:14 With His bride 19:7,9; 21:9 Occupies spiritual temple and city 21:14, 22, 23; 22:1, 3

The Lamb of spiritual blessing Sacrifice 5:6,9-10,12; 7:14; 12:11; 13:8 Shepherd, source of nourishment 7:16-17; 14:4;. 22:1 Lamp 21:23 Worthy to open the book 5

If we focus on beasts and dragons and miss the messages about the Lamb we have failed to grasp the real meaning of the Revelation. The Lamb of judgment The Lamb who is Deity The Lamb who conquers The Lamb of spiritual blessings
