THE TUDORS The Tudors ruled England from 1458 to Tudor was a family name of kings and queens. This was called the Tudor period. The Tudor age began when king Henry VII was crowned on August 22 nd During this exciting time people made and built many things similar to things we have today. The battle of Bosworth was very famous. Crime was often done by poor Tudors who had no work. They had no police but bad punishments. Read on out on to find out about executions, rich punishments and poor punishments.

WHAT WERE DIFFERENT TYPES OF TUDOR CRIMES? Many Tudors were involved in crime, one reason might have been because there was no police. Steeling was often done by poor people. Many Tudors had to seal to survive because living conditions were harsh. Beggars were big problem because people were afraid of them so if they became a nuisance they would be dragged through the streets while being whipped. Murderers punishment was cruel. Criminals always stood were lots of people would pass and they would throw things at the criminals.

WHAT WERE DIFFERENT EXECUTIONS? Punishing's was normally killing people or injuring people. Hanging was a common punishment. In 1594, seventy four people were hung in Devon. Only noble gentlemen or the gentry were beheaded. Beheaded was when your head was copped off while hanging was when your neck got tied to a rope and you got strangled. Dishonest shop keeper were chained in the to-stock. Then people would pelt him or her with rubbish. Other punishment were cutting of noses and suiting of ears.

WHAT WAS THE DUCKING STOOL? The ducking stool, which was used to test if women were witch's, killed people either way. The Tudor's thought that a evil spirit could take body's of animals and people so they tested women. If they were a very poor women you would be called a witch by very rich Tudors. They believed that a witch had a spot that would not bleed even if you stuck a sharp needle in to it. The ducking stool was a plank of wood with a seat. The woman thought of being a witch would be tied to the seat and be dunked in the freezing water. Unfortunately if they were innocent they sank in the murky pool but if they floated they were burnt to death and was a witch.

CONCLUDTION To conclude, there were many terrible punishments during the time the Tudors ruled England, wales and a part of Ireland. Crime and punishment made Tudor time cruel. In comparison to today most punishments were mostly killing Tudors. Would you like to be a criminal in Tudor time?
