PHYS 101 Equilibria

If a force is exerted on an object, is it possible for that object to move with constant velocity?

A hollow tube forms a ¾ circle. It is lying flat on a table A hollow tube forms a ¾ circle. It is lying flat on a table. A ball is shot through the tube at high speed. As the ball emerges from the other end, does it follow path A, path B, part C or path D?

The vectors below show five forces that can be applied individually or in combinations to the object. Which forces or combinations of forces will cause the object to be in equilibrium?

What is the tension in the ropes?

The two angled ropes used to support the crate can withstand a maximum tension of 1500 N before they break. What is the largest mass the ropes can support? Which rope will break first?
