Notable Cases Planned Parenthood Case South Dakota required a suicide advisory to be given by physicians to patients getting abortions. By forcing doctors to inform women that abortion subjects them to a risk which the record medical evidence refutes, the suicide advisory places an undue burden on a pregnant woman's due process rights and violates a doctor's First Amendment right against compelled speech. The district court's order enjoining the suicide advisory should therefore be affirmed.
