Geometry What is a Geometry?  In InRoads, a Geometry file is the file with the.alg extension that contains geometric information defining points, and alignments.  For our purposes here today, we can say that the Geometry file contains alignments, both horizontal and vertical.

Questions and Discussion Comment: Assigned vs. Active radio buttons on the View Horizontal Annotation dialog box. Assiged uses the alignment’s style for the symbology. Active uses the style defines in the combo box for the symbology. Active can be used to override the assigned style. Comment: Remove User Data could be used to eliminate the problems created when copying an alignment to create other elements like Right of Way lines. If an alignment is copied to create another parallel line, when the alignment is redisplayed, the copied line disappears. If You Remove the User Data before you redisplay the alignment, the copy will no longer be associated with the alignment and it will not disappear. Q: Can the On-Alignment check box found under Display>Points on the View Horizontal Annotation dialog box be used to clean up all the PI points from a survey line string imported into an alignment. A: No, You would need to edit the named symboloy to eliminate the PI points. We walked through a process that might help.
