Today We Will Discuss Proposed revisions to Chapter 37, Article XX (Sewer Use Ordinance) Resolutions: –Local Limits for Surcharge and Industrial Pretreatment Programs –Enforcement Response Plan

Chapter 37, Article XX Sewer Use Ordinance (SUO) Objectives Establish uniform requirements for all users of the wastewater system Comply with applicable federal & state rules Protect County water reclamation facilities and infrastructure Improve safety and operation of wastewater system

History of Current Sewer Use Ordinance Mandated by EPA Approved by EPA in 1983 Implemented in 1985 Surcharge Program Resolution passed in 1989 Ordinance revised in 2002

Reasons for Proposed Changes to Sewer Use Ordinance Support current County Comprehensive Plan Comply with FDEP and EPA Track hauled waste disposal Create guidelines for private pump station maintenance Provide code variance process Update Local Limits based on new calculations
