She made it for her daughter to keep warm when traveling to Green Bay. Lots of used clothing was used to fill the quilt. It was found years later in a bag in an attic. Moths and mice had made holes in it.

Her friends made blocks for this lap quilt for her, while she was having plastic surgery. It is the first quilt that Marie hand-quilted. Most of the friends who made the blocks are now deceased.
