BED MAKING

What is Bed making???? A hospital bed is a piece of equipment most frequently used by the hospitalized patient. It should be selected for its impact on patients’ comfort, safety, medical condition, and ability to change positions.

Things used for Bed making Cot Mattress with cover Bed sheet Pillow with cover Rexin sheet Mat Duster cloth - 2Nos Pillow cover

Purpose of Bed making To have the bed neat and clean helps keep a sick person comfortable Clean sheets with no wrinkles helps infection free and prevent bedsores Neat and tidy bed provides an appearance and give a positive energy to the patient

Procedures of Bed Making Making a bed with a person in it (occupied) Making a bed without a person in it (Unoccupied/empty)

Procedures of Bed Making Remove soiled Bedsheet & Pillow cover

Procedures of Bed Making Knock on the Patients door and politely ask permission to enter and make bed. Help the Patient to get up from the bed and sit on the chair. Remove the soiled bedsheet & Pillow cover

Procedures of Bed Making Soiled bed sheet gently & carefully by folding it into four, so that dust does not fly around. The solid bedsheet & Pillow cover outside of the room.

Procedures of Bed Making Fold the Mattress into two & Wipe the dust under the mattress with a wet cloth. Now wipe the bed with a dry cloth. Clean and dust the legs and the portion under the cot Washing the hands.

Procedures of Bed Making Fold it uniformly & place it in the center of the bed. Lift the mattress breadth wise above the bed, & tuck one end of the bed sheet under the mattress. The four corners of the bed sheet which remain unfolded should be folded triangularly & tucked tight under the Mattress.

Procedures of Bed Making Fold the pillow in two and then slip it into the cover. After the bedsheet has been neatly spread and the pillow cover has been put on, fold the blanket neatly and put it at the foot of the bed.

Settle the patient comfortably on the bed again, thank him, and then leave the room. Note: Stained & Damage bedsheets & Pillow covers should be replaced immediately. Procedures of Bed Making
