Aim of the Chi Lin Nunnery Following the Buddha’s spirit of “loving kindness, compassion, joy and sacrifice”, our aim is to provide religious, educational and welfare services for the people of Hong Kong.

Chi Lin Care and Attention Home Operation : 1994 Capacity : 318 Beds

Services Round the clock nursing & personal care. Medical consultation. Social work service. Physiotherapy. Occupational Therapy. Meals. Support services including laundry and transportation.

Funding Fees Government Subvention It is stipulated by Social Welfare Department Around $2,000 / month

Chi Lin Home for the Elderly Operation : April 1996 Capacity 80 beds

Services Round the clock nursing & personal care Medical consultation Social work service Physiotherapy Occupational Therapy Meals Support services including laundry and transportation

Fees Single Room : $23,950 / month Double Room $18,650 / month 3-Person Room $13,450 / month 4/5-Person Room $10,250 / month * Additional care fee would be charged on those residents requiring extra nursing care.

Funding Self – financing mode

Chi Lin Day Care Centre for the Elderly One type of community support service with an aim to enable elderly persons to continue living in the community. Provides a wide range of services for the frail elderly during the day time at the centre.

Operation : February 1994 Capacity : 85 places 65 places (government subvented) 20 places (self-financing)

Funding Fees Government subvention and self-financing. Subvented place : HK$934/ month (It is stipulated by Social Welfare Department) Self-financing place : HK$2,800/ month

Chi Lin Geriatric Dental Clinic Operation : August 2000 Aim : The clinic is to provide a comprehensive, quality, low cost, and specialized dental service to the poor, sick and elderly.

Uniqueness of the Clinic The dental clinic is unique with the following characteristics:- Priority for the elderly, poor and sick. Reduction of barriers. More time spent on each patients. Specially designed ramp. Specially trained personnel.

Funding Sponsored HK$8.2 million by the Hong Kong Jockey Club for the set up. Recurrent expenses of the first 3 years. From 2003 onward, it has operated on self-financing basis.

Chi Lin Medical Centre Operation : September 2002 Aim To provide low cost, but quality medical treatment for elderly persons and general public in the district.

Service General and geriatric consultation. Chinese medicine. Vaccination. Physical examination. Case referral. Physiotherapy. Podiatry treatment.

Funding The set up cost was sponsored by Wai Hung Charity Foundation, and the recurrent operation is based on a self- financing mode.
