Future Commitments as Part of DPR Video Lectures – 6 per Semester Synchronous Delivery – 6 per Semester Video on-Demand – 6 per Semester Course Book Generation – 6 per Semester For the complete Project a total of 36 courses will be completed with all the aspects of the Four Quadrant Approach

Synchronous Delivery Currently delivered under DEI’s MoUs with several Institutes in India and abroad Live Internet-based video streaming Routine as a delivery mechanism to multiple locations

Synchronous Delivery Offer transparent live delivery of lectures through hardware video conferencing RADVISION’s SCOPIA conferencing solutions Six courses per semester for live delivery. Students in remote classrooms will hook up live to the DEI classrooms. Students to participate in the lectures and discussions.

Video-on-Demand A video repository on the storage system will be fully indexed with keywords. Each 50 minute video will be divided into 4-5 logical sections. A Google front end will be used to provide search capability. In response to keyword-based search, the system will generate relevant links to video sections. Using an embedded player, the user can playback relevant links of videos. The project will involve the development of software, indexing and course web linking of the videos.

Course Book Generation As per IIT Bombay model: For each course a suitable set of syllabi will be defined. A broad-based Wiki will be delivered covering all the syllabi identified. A course book providing comprehensive description of the course material will be delivered for each course. The course books will be delivered in PDF as well as web-format. DEI will develop course textbooks for six courses per semester: Delivering books for six courses in the first year. 12 courses each in the second and third years.
