Evangelism as a Process Mark 4:3-9, 13-20, 26-29

Stage One: Cultivation (Appeals to the Heart/Emotions) The Point: Each kind of soil is prepared differently. The Process: Shine the light early but not obnoxiously. – Concern: Show unconditional, genuine care for people. – Mutuality: Find areas of mutual interest. – Integrity: Live a genuine and consistent lifestyle of the believer – Discernment: We can discern the different receptivity levels in our relationships

Stage Two: Sowing (Appeals to the Mind/Intellect) Casting Seeds – Raise the Flag – Share Faith Stories – Share God’s Word Give a Bible. Give a book. Give a DVD. Read the Bible together. Invite to an Investigative Bible Study

Stage Two: Sowing (Appeals to the Mind/Intellect) Growing Seedlings – Allow time for the seed to germinate and grow. – Weed the soil of the obstacles to faith. – Trust the process.

Stage Three: Reaping (Appeals to the Will/Volition) When is it time to reap the harvest? Your friend senses a personal need. Your friend understands the facts of the good news. Your friend seems to accept the truth of the good news. There is no reason to postpone a decision.

Of the people that trust Christ, those who are most likely to grow in their faith are those who have had multiple exposures to the good news and have established friendships with other followers of Jesus.
