Outlook for remittances  Remittances to developing countries $370 bn in 2011 (12.2% increase over 2010)  Forecast: 7-8 percent growth in  Economic crisis in Europe, high unemployment rates and restrictive immigration policies are affecting migration and remittances  Gulf countries and oil exporters (Russia) are providing a cushion for remittances to Asia IMTC WEST 2012
