Mayo Civic Center is a critical component of southeastern Minnesota’s economy Rochester’s hospitality industry = 11,000 workers generating annual economic impact of $530 million Rochester’s medical community, including the State’s largest private employer, adds nearly $4 billion to the State’s economy annually Expansion will diversify Rochester’s convention opportunities while supporting medical, bioscience, hotel, restaurant & retail sectors In 2008 Mayo Civic Center generated economic impact of $113 million – an expanded facility will add another $44 million annually Expanding Mayo Civic Center will attract new business & grow the economy
