eGY Demonstration Projects Status Report March, 2008 Bill Peterson

eGY demonstration projects showcase examples of state-of-the-art systems that exemplify the eGY vision: They demonsrate ready and open access to the vast and growing collections of cross-disciplinary digital information that is the key to understanding and responding to complex Earth system phenomena.

Activity since our last meeting Joint Assembly in Acapulco, Mexico, May 2007 Booth with videos manned by Peterson, Roberts, and Papitashvili eGY Kick-off event in Perugia Italy Presentations by: Holt, Holmes, Gehmeyer, Meserotti Gvishiani, and others Fall AGU Meeting in San Francisco, December 2007 Presentations by: Roberts, Walker, Szabo, Olsen, Weigel, Vandergrif, Morrison, Holmes, and Satiouka On the web:

Demonstrations on the web Akinori Saito: Dagik (DAily Geospace data In Kml) Caryn Neiswender, Luis Bermudez and the MMI Team: Demonstration of Standards-Based Interoperability Tool Eliot Christian: Disaster Management Clearinghouse Eliot Christian: Public Warning Emily CoBabe-Ammann: Virtual Observatories in the Classroom Joanna Muench: GeoWS Aaron Roberts: Virtual Space Physics Observatory

Next steps: One last call for web projects A better web wrapper for the projects describing them and tying them to eGY objectives Describe them in an EOS Spotlight article.
