Data Portal Documentation

Data Portal Next Steps Products-Products-Products! – Data formats (NetCDF, GIS compatible, others) – Graphical displays of inventory, data, metrics – To meet prioritized stakeholder, E/O, GOMA needs Additional Data Streams – Federal NDBC,USGS, VOS, NWS, etc. – NERRS, GOMA, EPA others. 14 Local Data Nodes

Local Data Nodes: Designed To harmonize the data systems of non- federal Providers Funded at $300K/yr (12 shares) – ( = 1 man month programmer’s time per node) T1: Host machine-harvested sensor lists T2: Offer data via OGC Web Service T3: Attend two interoperability events T4: Agree on a Common Vocabulary Tasks

Accomplishments All Nodes are participating in ObsRegistry – Soon all nodes will generate these files automatically for up to the moment accuracy Many nodes have deployed a Sensor Observation Service (SOS) Web Service Most selected the OOSTethys SOS We expect the need to make continual changes SECOORA Common Data Language Selected

Interoperability Events 2008 2008 Ocean Sciences Meeting (Mar 2008 Orlando, FL) Ocean Observing Systems Planning for Interoperability (OOSPI) Workshop (Aug 2008 – Huntsville, AL) World Summit Ocean Observing Systems (Oct 2008 St. John’s NL) Ocean Observing Systems Semantic Interoperability (OOSSI) (Nov 2008, Boulder, CO) American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting (Dec 2008 San Francisco)
