An ENGLISH WEEK at RAMÓN MENÉNDEZ PIDAL SCHOOL-GIJÓN APRIL 2010 Comenius project: “European culture and cultures of Europe”

Infants read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Los alumnos de infantil representamos mediante dibujos la “ceremonia del té”

They enjoyed watching the Disney film Disfrutamos mucho viendo “Alicia en el País de las Maravillas”

We had a tea party We tested and tried different kind of teas Fiesta del té. Olimos y probamos diferentes tés.

We celebrated a MERRY MERRY UNBIRTHDAY TO YOU. We even cooked brownies. Delicious! Cocinamos “brownies”, un bizcocho típico inglés.

Year 1 and year 2 did some crafts.

We made the English “Bobby” and the Queen’s Guard and learned about the “Changing of the Guard”

The children looked for information about London and facts about Britain.

We made a “ sightseeing ” tour around London. Hicimos un viaje “virtual” por Londres

Then, we made different crafts about English life (food, clothes, geography, culture … )

We read some articles about Norfolk, the place where our English partners live. Leimos algunos artículos sobre Norfolk, la región donde viven nuestros compañeros ingleses.

We watched the English pupils from Acle School dancing “ Virginia Real ” and then practicing and practicing we learnt the dance.

It was so funny! ¡Nos divertimos aprendiendo y bailando la danza inglesa!
