THE BOARD GAME By BLAX-INK publishing www. BLAX-INK. com

Wanted: Family Time It is an unfortunate fact that many of us spend more time in front of a screen than in front of each other. We look at our cell phones and PDAs more than we look at our children or spouses. Without human interaction, learning, laughter and fun it seems we are more sedated than alive, meandering through life on automatic pilot.

Defining the Family In the past, religion and food (the diner table) defined our families. It allowed us to connect to each other as a family as opposed to individuals. Church and mealtime defined us. Held us together, celebrated our commonalities. Now, we eat in different rooms, at different times while gazing into one of our various screens – computer, TV, pda, gps, laptop.

We Must Reclaim our families Save our communal spirit Limit electronics Get outside Step away from the table (we eat more than we talk anyway) Establish “Family Game Time"

Establish a daily “Family Game Time.” Even if it’s only 30 minutes a day, find a regular time slot in your day where your family can sit down and play a game together. On nice days, take the game outside onto a picnic blanket or outdoor table. Better yet, opt for a physical outdoor activity such as basketball or road hockey on a nice day.

More detailed Instructions are in the Instruction and Notes Booklet

Know the Game It is very important that you read the Notes that are coupled with the instructions in the Instruction Booklet in order to know all of you options of the game and what is required to win. You may refer to these notes or any other portion of the instructions at any time during the game.

Honesty vs Answer Sheet This game is also one that tests your honesty and integrity. There is a deck of multiple choice questions cards which you pull from at any given point in the game that allows you to move should you get the answer correct. The answers to the questions are found on the back cover of the instruction booklet – up side down.

Encouraged to use your Bible There will also be times when you will be allowed to look up answers to your Bible question in your Bible. Timed of course, so if you are familiar with where the books of the Bible are located you will have an advantage.
