Important to know Sounds are built into syllables and syllables are combined to form words. You must see and hear words in parts.

The letters l, s, and f, do not double in multisyllabic words The letters l, s, and f, do not double in multisyllabic words. The bonus letter applies to one syllable words.

Compound words with ll, ss, and ff, will remain doubled.

When an ‘s’ is added to a multisyllabic baseword, spell the baseword one syllable at a time and then add the ‘s’
