ARE YOU SURE?! What is the difference between the Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ? The Second Coming will actually occur in two phases – the Rapture and the Revelation. At the Rapture, believers meet the Lord in the sky. At the Revelation, Jesus comes to earth (the actual second coming) and sets up a 1,000-year reign with His saints.

The Rapture includes these three aspects: First, there will be a resurrection of those who sleep in Jesus. 1 Thess. 4:14; cf. Rev. 20:5 Second, the living saints will be “airlifted” and changed in a moment. 1 Thess. 4:17; 1 Cor 15:51-57; 1 John 3:1-3 Third, there will be a meeting in the air with the Lord. 1 Thess. 4:17 The Revelation (which is when Christ actually returns to earth for the second time) is that event when Christ will establish a 1,000-year reign on earth with His saints.
