14.2 Chapter Overview The seventh commandment involves the topics of stealing, the use of private property, and the necessity of making amends. The tenth commandment helps us appreciate the need to follow the way of Jesus in order to avoid the sins of envy, avarice, and greed. Justice applies the seventh commandment to the pursuit of the common good. Catholic social teaching offers guidance for achieving social justice.

Reparation (p. 265): Making amends for harming another; returning stolen property.
