Acts 20: Paul’s Testimony to the Ephesian elders

Acts 20:21 “I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.”

Act 20:24 “However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.”

Acts 20: “Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of any of you. 27 For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God.” Ezekiel 33: 1-7 “The Call and Responsibility of a Watchman”

Acts 20: Paul’s Charge to the Ephesian Elders

The Ephesian elders are warned to be on-guard against “wolves” that will come from outside of the congregation, as well as ones that will emerge from inside of the church.

Acts 20:32 “Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”

Ephesians 4: [Jesus Christ] gave us the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”

Act 20:35 “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Acts 20: Paul’s Farewell to the Ephesian Elders

Paul set a good example for all believers: Handling trouble with grace, weeping for the lost souls around him that acted in “ignorance” of the gospel.

Despite the obvious differences between the Ephesians and ourselves; we both struggle to walk closely with Jesus, to cherish The Bible, and to live out the Gospel in holiness.
