The Total Zero approach is a three-step-process. Insetting – constantly reducing carbon emissions. A variety of initiatives to reduce CO 2 emissions are incorporated into the DPD business. Offsetting: a means to fight against CO 2 emissions. Since the launch of Total Zero in 2012, all the CO 2 emissions generated in BeLux, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom that were unavoidable, have been offset by its parent company GeoPost sees this initiative extend to Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. In 2013 GeoPost offsets carbon emissions of approximately tonnes. GeoPost makes this investment without passing on any extra charge to DPD’s customers.

CDC Climat. DPD’s parent company GeoPost has partnered with CDC Climat to offset DPD’s remaining CO 2 emissions. CDC Climat’s international standing and long- term commitment to lowering CO 2 emissions makes it the perfect offsetting partner for the Total Zero commitment. DPD’s parent company GeoPost is working with CDC Climat to identify a range of carbon offsetting projects which it supports through the Total Zero principle. These projects could range from overseas projects in the developing world to more local schemes in Europe.
