The first ever pan-European Award Scheme to inspire partnership for innovation and impact Focuses on successful partnerships between business and non- business organisations, with particular emphasis on collaborative programmes that tackle sustainability through innovation NAP Logo

8 NAP Logo Partnerships The power of collaboration between business and non business partners increase the overall positive impact in society 8 It is becoming common practice for companies to engage with multiple non- business partners and with multiple sectors in the same partnership In many cases partners include various companies within the same supply chain and even competitors that have come to­gether Some examples include companies generating local platforms where a variety of businesses and other partners can share their ideas and exchange experience The size and composition of partnerships illustrates that companies are engaging in more inclusive forms of collaboration The vast majority of cases involve long-term partnerships, which show a clear evolution in the relationship after an initial successful cooperation

9 NAP Logo Partnerships The results show that 32% of the winning partnerships involve at least three types of partners 9

10 NAP Logo Innovation Is a way of effective tackling social issues There is a rich representation of innovative approaches and partnership models Recurring themes in the winning partnerships include new ideas on business models, products and services to resolve existing sustainable challenges Some partnerships use Research and Development to tackle social issues 10

11 NAP Logo Impact on Society 11 Key outcomes The results show that 71.5 % of winning initiatives concentrate on community development and 44.5% of the projects address the environment The selection of topics shows that partnerships tend to tackle multiple social issues An example of this overlap of issues is demonstrated by education projects addressing environmental issues

12 NAP Logo Impact on Society Key outcomes There is an increasing trend to align partnership activities with companies’ core business. Such strategies offer more opportunities to create high quality sustainable contributions to society, and in return bring value to the business Having a positive impact on the environment is one of the top priorities and at the same time a necessary factor for a successful and competitive company 50% of the partnerships focused on education and in some cases connected it with employability 12

13 NAP Logo Impact on business 13 Key outcome The balance between minimising risks through accountability, good governance and transparency and at the same time maximising opportunities through social innovation, delivering new products and services, are key business impacts that collaboration delivers. The main business impact highlighted Development of products and services: creating new markets and sales opportunities Better use of resources: cost savings Improved reputation Employee engagement and development

We propose you to showcase four case studies from different countries. 2 SMEs and 2 Large Companies representing different geographies such as Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Central Europe and with different innovative approaches to CSR partnerships. This sample is meant to show the variety of projects running across Europe, but also the common essence involving all of them: partnership, innovation and impact.
