ELEVATORS

STRAIGHT ELEVATORS

STRAIGHT ELEVATORS STRAIGHT APEXO COUPLAND

Straight elevators (mode of action): Mesial application of force to the lower last molar with the convex part of the blade resting on the interdental septum and the concave part engaging the mesial root of the third molar , rotary movements are made to luxate or move the third molar out of the socket.

CURVED APEXO

Curved apexo Mode of action: The tip of the elevator is inserted between the root fragment and the socket wall which will be removed by elevator force.

MILLER

Miller Mode of action: ( modified straight elevator) Used to luxate the upper third molars by mesial application of force.

CRYER

CROSS BAR

CROSS BAR SOCKET APPLICATOR

CROSS BAR BUCCAL APPLICATOR

Cryer and winter Mode of action: Buccal application: the tip of the elevator blade inserted in the root bifurcation and the tooth is removed by elevation using the buccal cortical plate as fulcrum. Extraction of roots: the tip of the elevator is introduced in the socket facing the root until the tip engaged the root then removed by elevating force.
