Putting the Scientific Method to work

The Quicker, Picker Upper Test

Today you will determine which paper towel is really the best buy for your buck

Be sure to use all parts of the scientific method Problem-Which paper towel soaks up liquid the fastest Observe-Look very carefully at the each sample of paper towel. Look for thickness, design for absorbency, etc. Hypothesis- Make your decision right now before the experiment begins. Choose which paper towel you think will work. Be sure to

Use If…….then…..because Experiment-Try each of the paper towels that you have. Be sure to time how quick the moisture is absorbed, along with how much moisture is absorbed. After you have recorded your data, analyze your findings Now you are ready to make your Inferences based on the facts that you have found

Finally, make your Conclusion Start your sentence out with ….In conclusion, our group found that the______ paper towel was the best buy for the consumer. It absorbed moisture at a quicker rate, etc.
