Suggested Actions for a reinforced Cooperation between ECA & UNESCO and its Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission ECA and UNESCO/IOC to develop joint programmes in Ocean and Climate systems sciences aimed at supporting African institutions and centres of excellence in Ocean and Climate systems sciences leading to: 1- Reinforcing intra-African cooperation through joint research programmes between Marine Research institutions and Universities in AFRICA. 2- Promoting South/South and North/South Cooperation in Ocean Sciences, Technology and Innovation through joint research programmes and visiting professorship programmes that brings the world top earth system scientists, innovators and creative minds to African marine institutions and universities based in Africa. 4- Developing fellowship programmes based on sandwich research approach for North/South/South students exchange with African institutions.
