What is an unbalanced force?

When 2 forces act in the same direction, the net force is the sum of the two individual forces. Unbalanced Forces in the same direction.

When two forces act in opposite directions, the net force is the difference between the two individual forces. Unbalanced Forces in the Opposite Direction

When 2 equal forces act in opposite directions, they cancel each other out. Balanced Forces in Opposite Directions

 The first law says that an object at rest tends to stay at rest, and an object in motion tends to stay in motion, with the same direction and speed.   rd/ rd/50770 Newton’s 1 st Law of Motion

 The second law shows that if you exert the same force on two objects of different mass, you will get different accelerations (changes in motion). Newton’s 2 nd Law of Motion
