Genesis 25:28–34 Isaac loved Esau because he ate of his game, but Rebekah loved Jacob. 29 Once when Jacob was cooking stew, Esau came in from the field, and he was exhausted. 30 And Esau said to Jacob, “Let me eat some of that red stew, for I am exhausted!” 31 Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright now.” 32 Esau said, “I am about to die……

of what use is a birthright to me?” 33 Jacob said, “Swear to me now.” So he swore to him and sold his birthright to Jacob. 34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.

Genesis 27:1–10 When Isaac was old and his eyes were dim so that he could not see, he called Esau his older son and said to him, “My son”; and he answered, “Here I am.” 2 He said, “Behold, I am old; I do not know the day of my death. 3 Now then, take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me…….

4 and prepare for me delicious food, such as I love, and bring it to me so that I may eat, that my soul may bless you before I die.” 5 Now Rebekah was listening when Isaac spoke to his son Esau. So when Esau went to the field to hunt for game and bring it, 6 Rebekah said to her son Jacob…… 9 Go to the flock and bring me two good young goats……

so that I may prepare from them delicious food for your father, such as he loves. 10 And you shall bring it to your father to eat, so that he may bless you before he dies.”

Genesis 27:30–38 As soon as Isaac had finished blessing Jacob, when Jacob had scarcely gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, Esau his brother came in from his hunting. 31 He also prepared delicious food and brought it to his father. And he said to his father, “Let my father arise and eat of his son’s game, that you may bless me.”……

32 His father Isaac said to him, “Who are you?” He answered, “I am your son, your firstborn, Esau.” 33 Then Isaac trembled very violently and said, “Who was it then that hunted game and brought it to me, and I ate it all before you came, and I have blessed him? Yes, and he shall be blessed.” 34 As soon as Esau heard the words of his father, he cried out……

with an exceedingly great and bitter cry and said to his father, “Bless me, even me also, O my father!” 35 But he said, “Your brother came deceitfully, and he has taken away your blessing.” 36 Esau said, “Is he not rightly named Jacob? For he has cheated me these two times. He took away my birthright, and behold, now he has taken away my blessing.”……

Then he said, “Have you not reserved a blessing for me?” 37 Isaac answered and said to Esau, “Behold, I have made him lord over you, and all his brothers I have given to him for servants, and with grain and wine I have sustained him. What then can I do for you, my son?” 38 Esau said to his father, “Have you but one blessing, my father? Bless me, even me also, O my father.”

Every child needs their Father to speak into their lives.

After the climb, his son came over to him, and kind of quietly said, “Dad, did you really think I was a wild man up there?”

In that moment, more hung in the balance than you could imagine. Miss that moment, and you miss a boy’s heart.

My Dad helped me feel that I was a perfectly OK person, but, mind you, not a perfect little princess. That’s because he took me windsurfing, skateboarding, skiing, rockclimbing and rollerblading. We caught frogs and kissed banana slugs (and never with the idea that one would turn into a prince). He didn’t try to turn me into a tomboy he simply celebrated me as a kid......

When I started wearing makeup in high school, he would subtly comment that I looked nice when he caught me without my caked-on foundation and liquid black eyeliner. When I wore my four-inch high- heels to school, he’d playfully wrinkle his face and inquire, “Are you comfortable?” Sometimes he would follow up with a comment about it being unfortunate when fashion crippled women……

He never made me feel bad about trying to meet the beauty status quo, but he made it clear that it wasn’t something that he particularly valued or expected and it didn’t define your personal worth. - Tracy Clark-Flory

I Thessalonians 2:11-12 (The Message) With each of you we were like a father with his child, holding your hand, whispering encouragement, showing you step by step how to live well before God.

Every child wants to admire their Father.

Every child needs a Father approval.

There is a longing in the heart of every child for the approval of their Father.

Every child needs a secure relationship with their Father.

Can your children be honest with you?

You need to share your mistakes with your children….. but don’t hold your mistakes against them!

Every child needs to know their Father is there for them.

Any man can father a child, but it takes a real man to be a Father.

Every child needs to experience the acceptance of their Father.

Every child sees what they hope to be in their Father, and every Father sees what they used to be in the children.

It is in the heart of every child to experience the love of a father.

Every child needs a Father…… every person needs the Father.

If you want to be a MANALIVE, raise your boys to be men and your daughters to be women.
